Hybrids are rapidly grabbing up more of the market for fuel-efficient vehicles. Since Toyota's introduction of the Prius, almost every major brand manufacturer has produced a hybrid vehicle. The benefits seem obvious: unparalleled mileage and super-low emissions. But what you may not know about these cars is that there are plausible alternatives in terms of fuel economy?

 

While the U.S. Congress debates national debt, national unemployment continues to threaten 10%. And while part of the burden lies on Congress to decrease this number through policy changes, every little bit helps. To this end, Honda recently added nearly 1,000 new jobs to a relatively new production plant in Greensburg, IN, which is a primary assembly facility for the industry-standard compact, the Civic.

According to a US News ranking analysis, the 2012 Honda Fit ranks top five among 25 vehicles in the "Affordable Small Cars" category. That's a pretty big field (for example, not specifying hatchback vs. sedan vs. coupe; not separating out eco-friendly vs. utility cars), and to come in fifth demonstrates a lot about the range of assets and appeal in this new Honda.
