Honda Facilities earn EPA Star Award!

Congratulations to Honda for being recognized for having not one, but two superb energy-efficient operations. Over the years, Honda has been committed to not only producing top of the line-dependable vehicles, but also operating in a safe- environment friendly manner as well. Regional parts distribution centers located in Davenport, Iowa and Gresham, Oregon both earned the coveted U.S EPA Energy Star Award this year. Corporate manager of national facility services at American Honda Motor Co, Inc Garth Sellers stated, "Our Gresham facility has long been at the forefront of Honda's 'green building' initiatives in the U.S and it is breaking new ground again as one of the first non-manufacturing Honda facilities in America to earn an Energy Star award."  A very extensive list of innovative design features can be found throughout these facilities ranging from an air-conditioning system to rainwater harvesting. Also, recycled materials are used heavily in each facility including chair seats made from recycled seatbelts, flooring from automobile tires, and wallpaper using old phonebooks. These facilities have been considered somewhat an attraction drawing visitors from the Harvard Business School, China, and Japan! "These awards reflect positively on Honda's longstanding effort to reduce the environmental impact of our business operations in North America." Stated sellers. Honda has also been recognized as being a leader in the development of leading-edge technologies to minimize CO2 emissions and enhance fuel-efficiency. Once again, congratulations to Honda for being outstanding leaders in all aspects of vehicle production.
